Fabulously Styled: Whimsical Jewel Tones

The setting for this fabulous shoot is a gorgeous golf club with a variety of event spaces to utilize. Playing off of the colors found in gemstones, a color scheme of emerald and amethyst with gold accents was highlighted. It began with the selection of the bride’s striking gown that was accented in gold lace. Then the theme was carried through to the printed materials created by Chirp Paperie, which featured a gemstone inspired invitation suite and coordinating table numbers. The theme was brought to life by the enchanting floral design by Orange Blossoms. The wedding ceremony took place on the terrace with sweeping views of the golf course. Greenery was draped from the ceiling and lined the aisle creating a romantic garden feel. Lanterns filled with red and pink roses were accented by green moss and hung to create a backdrop for the ceremony. Clear chiavari chairs with amethyst chair cushions added color throughout the space. Opposite the ceremony space was the cocktail hour that also featured the hanging lanterns. In the reception space, guests were treated to gold sequin linens in which sat clear wave chargers wrapped in an amethyst satin napkin topped with a gemstone and gold glitter menu card accented with gold flatware. Each place setting was embellished with place card featuring the birth gemstone of the guest. Beautiful tall floral centerpieces of red and pick roses, purple hydrangea and lush greenery were accented by a duet of shorter centerpieces of the same flowers. Amber lighting and exquisite chandeliers created a soft, elegant glow to the reception ballroom to complete the look. Low centerpieces of red and pick roses, purple hydrangea and lush greenery were placed upon a white on white patterned linen. So FAB!

Fabulously Styled: Autumn Picnic

The autumn day in the mountains starts with our lovely wife getting a picnic basket ready. She puts on her wedding dress to relive her big day with boots and a jacket. While she packs up the suitcase full of goodies for her picnic, she jots a little note for her husband. In it she writes “We walked up this path before, now we are walking up this path again together. Happy Anniversary My love.” She walks up a path to the perfect picnic spot where he had proposed to her years ago and gets everything set up. A bouquet of gathered flowers and a breakfast picnic with coffee and sweet baked goods. The idea was to create a story line that brought a feeling of love with a touch of autumn. A styled wedding shoot with a focus on a love story that brought them to another happy anniversary.

Fabulously Wed: Nautical Sunset Beach Wedding

Not only are they everywhere in San Diego, but they’re also really easy to take care, and we felt this played into the natural and laidback vibe we were going for. Pulling dark blue from the deep water of the ocean and various shades of teal from the succulents helped establish the color palette for the wedding. We tapped into our own personal style to help shape the overall style of the wedding. We were able to incorporate some coastal décor from our home, we stained store bought lanterns to fit our style, and we (by we, I mean George) even personally built some of the wedding décor, such as the sign we used to welcome guests. Playing off our lifestyle and adding these personal touches helped represent us, which again, was our ultimate goal for our wedding day.

Fabulously Inspired: An Equestrian Wedding At The Mount

A palatial estate surrounded by exquisite gardens is the scene where this love tale unfolds. A historic location, Edith Wharton’s Estate is strewn with a magical charm all it’s own. Walking down the limestone paths that encircle the estate, one feels at once the vitality and romance of such a place. The inspiration for this shoot was a melding of several nuances woven together, a natural and historic English countryside wedding with equestrian undertones. The concept was to mimic the love triangle outlined in one of Wharton’s most infamous tales, The Age of Innocence.

With an assortment of custom and designer gowns, our “May Welland” and “Ellen Olenska” looked positively ravishing with simply stunning hair and makeup thanks to the team from Larissa Lake Makeup artist. Those gowns from Pearl Bridal took on an especially luxurious aura having been delicately embellished with pearls and crystals. Zoey Gulmi, fashion stylist, added all the finishing touches and had the privilege and the pleasure of hand selecting some real stunners from an exquisite collection from McTeigue and McClelland. Our “Newland Archer” looked quite the gentleman in his fantastic suiting from the inimitably dapper Jackson & Connor. Our sumptuous florals added true finesse and refinement to the day. Even one of the beautiful Arabian horses, Aria, glowed while donning a delicate floral wreath thanks to Forget Me Not Florist. The outstanding provisions on the lavishly styled tables were all sourced locally.

Beautiful French pastries from Patisserie Lenox dotted our high tea table situated amongst the blooms, the fountain gurgling in the background. The woodland scene, was a striking yet cozy environment with gracious home furnishings compliments of Wingate Ltd and styled by Lindsey Smith. Our love trio, after having explored the estate, surrounding forest and gardens with so very many charming details settled in for refreshments. The highlight of our amuse bouche table strewn with all sorts of delectables was the 7-tier artisanal cheese wheel wedding cake. The scene was laden with offerings from both Guido’s and the Marketplace (both highly coveted by the culinary inclined). Any couple seeking a venue with old world charm and classical details need look no further than Edith Wharton’s estate. It is clear why this outstanding venue was given it’s namesake, for surely there is no other place that stands out from the rest as does, The Mount. – Megan Alissa Glanville, art director (and author of story).

Fabulous Real Wedding: Ben and William’s Redwood Wedding

Ben and William met in 2008 through mutual friends at a whiskey bar in San Francisco. It was love at first site. They wanted to have a forest wedding but the obvious venue choices were all booked for the next two years. Then they stumbled upon Stones and Flowers while Googling for venues in the redwoods. As soon as they saw the venue, they knew it was the place for them. Their celebration was filled with smiles and joy; a lovely and intimate weekend gathering among majestic redwoods near Santa Cruz.
